January 5-7 2027 | Manila, Philippines
Course Overview
Module 4 · Acquired Heart Disease provides a comprehensive clinical approach to the most common acquired cardiac conditions in dogs and cats. The module focuses on understanding disease mechanisms, improving diagnostic accuracy, applying evidence-based classification and staging systems, and making appropriate therapeutic decisions in everyday clinical practice.
Through expert-led lectures and clinical case discussions, participants will strengthen their ability to evaluate acquired heart disease from diagnosis through disease progression and management.
Myxomatous Valvular Disease — epidemiology, pathogenesis, disease progression, ACVIM staging, Mine Score and echocardiographic assessment.
Canine Cardiomyopathies — DCM, arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia-induced and nutritional cardiomyopathies, with a focus on diagnosis and treatment.
Feline Heart Disease — pathology, diagnosis and management of feline cardiac diseases, with particular emphasis on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Pericardial Diseases & Cardiac Tumors — diagnostic approaches, prognosis and treatment strategies for acquired pericardial disease and cardiac neoplasia.
Clinical Case Discussions — applying knowledge to real-world cases and developing systematic clinical decision-making skills.
