Course Overview
The Advanced Practical Course of Small Animal Echocardiography is designed for veterinarians who want to improve their ability to perform and interpret echocardiographic examinations in dogs and cats.
This intensive 3-day program combines essential theory, clinical case discussions, and extensive hands-on training to help participants develop a systematic approach to cardiac ultrasound. From image acquisition and standard examination protocols to measurements and disease diagnosis, attendees will gain practical skills that can be immediately applied in daily practice.
With dedicated practical sessions every afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to refine their scanning techniques and strengthen their confidence in veterinary cardiology diagnostics.

Day 1
● Use of conventional and more recent echocardiographic modes.
● Echocardiographic exam protocol in dogs and cats.
● Interpretation of normal and pathological echocardiographic images/videos
● Echocardiographic examination protocol in practice
Day 2
● What to measure in each standard echocardiographic image and how to do it: Clinical cases
● Individual measurements of echocardiographic images
Day 3
● Clinical cases based on ECHO: congenital and acquired cardiac diseases.
● Individual echocardiographic examinations

DVM PhD Dipl ECVIM CA (Cardiology)
Professor of Veterinary Cardiology and Head of the Cardiology Service of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Murcia.
She has supervised more than 20 PhD students and several ECVIM cardiology residents.
She has published several papers in internationally refereed journals related to diagnosis and therapy in veterinary cardiology.
