Program Overview
Experience veterinary ophthalmology in a real European referral environment through the EAVSI European Study Tour & Clinical Shadowing Program at Oculistica Veterinaria Torino.
Train under the guidance of Prof. Cristina Giordano, a veterinary ophthalmologist with more than 30 years of clinical and teaching experience.
This immersive program provides veterinarians with the opportunity to observe real clinical cases, advanced ophthalmic surgery and daily specialist practice, gaining first-hand insight into European veterinary ophthalmology.
About Oculistica Veterinaria Torino
Oculistica Veterinaria Torino is a specialized veterinary ophthalmology referral center in Turin, Italy, dedicated to advanced diagnosis and treatment of ophthalmic diseases.
The center provides comprehensive ophthalmic services and offers exposure to advanced diagnostic and surgical procedures, including:
l Extraocular procedures
l Intraocular procedures
l Ophthalmic microsurgery
l Laser applications
l Preoperative management
l Comprehensive ophthalmic consultations
Clinical Shadowing & Surgical Observation
During the program, participants will be immersed in the daily clinical activities of a specialized veterinary ophthalmology center.
You will have the opportunity to:
l Observe a full day of ophthalmic consultations
l Follow real clinical cases through diagnosis and treatment
l Observe extraocular and intraocular procedures
l Gain exposure to ophthalmic microsurgery
l Observe laser applications
l Understand preoperative assessment and management
l Learn through multidisciplinary case management
l Gain insight into specialist clinical decision-making
Case availability and surgical observation are subject to the clinical schedule.
Program Schedule
Day 1 — Arrival & Orientation
Turin, Italy
Orientation and introduction to the clinical shadowing program and Oculistica Veterinaria Torino.
Days 2–5 — Full-Day Clinical Shadowing & Surgical Observation
Participants will spend full days at Oculistica Veterinaria Torino, experiencing the daily workflow of a specialized veterinary ophthalmology center.
Key activities include:
l Full-day ophthalmic consultations
l Real clinical case observation
l Ophthalmic diagnostics
l Surgical observation
l Microsurgery observation
l Laser applications
l Preoperative management
l Multidisciplinary case management

International and national speaker and author of scientific publications in veterinary ophthalmology.
Former Course Director, Lecturer and Instructor of the SCIVAC-ISVPS Postgraduate Certificate Program in Veterinary Ophthalmology (GPCert Ophthal).
Works in Torino, Italy, with an activity exclusively dedicated to medical surgical and diagnostic eye care
Cancellation & Refund Policy
· More than 10 days before the course: 90% of the tuition will be refunded. Within 10 days before the course: Only 50% of the tuition will be refunded. Alternatively, your spot can be transferred to another participant.
· In case of course-related changes (e.g. rescheduling or venue change), a full refund can be requested. No additional compensation will be provided.
· Refunds are typically processed within one month. Thank you for your patience.
· If an invoice is required, please submit your request within 3 months after the course ends. Invoices must be issued within the same calendar year as the tuition payment. No refunds will be processed once an invoice has been issued.
