Course Overview
The EAVSI Master Cardiology Course brings together the world's most respected names in veterinary cardiology to deliver an advanced, structured, and practice-driven training experience. Designed and led by Dr. Claudio Bussadori—a pioneer in the development of the ECVIM-CA system—this course is a unique opportunity to learn directly from the minds behind modern cardiovascular medicine.
What You'll Learn (in 7 modules)
· The course offers a deep dive into all major areas of small animal cardiology, including:Echocardiography (TTE & TEE)
· ECG interpretation and arrhythmia management
· Congenital and acquired heart diseases
· Cardiovascular pharmacology and therapeutic strategies
· Cardiac emergencies and interventional cardiology
· Case-based decision making and clinical reasoning

With input from specialists around the world, it gives participants the tools to thrive in any cardiovascular setting—whether pursuing further certification, advancing in referral practice, or contributing to the development of veterinary cardiology in their region.
Curriculum
Day 1 Canine and Feline Echocardiography Course
● Ultrasound physic for cardiologist
● Choice of technology and equipment, image optimization
● Organization of the echocardiographic laboratory, reporting, and PACS systems
● The complete echocardiographic examination: machine ECHO controls, patient preparation and obtention of standar views: the B-Mode and M-Mode strandard images, Doppler blood flows (Color-coded, Spectral) and myocardial Doppler spectra.
Day 2 Canine and Feline Echocardiography Course
● Echocardiographic measurements: direct and index measurements, information obtainable and reference values
● Study of systolic and diastolic dysfunction, clinical examples of the interpetation of the dedicated echocardiographic indexes
★ Practical Session:
● Guide to the correct execution of a complete echocardiographic examination
Day 3 Canine and Feline Echocardiography Course
● Advanced technology in ecohcardiography . Rationale for the use of 2D strain indices, 3D Echo and TEE echocardiography
★ Practical Session:
● Practical echocardiography test with execution of BMode and MMode measurements as preparation for the variability tests.
● Practical training on the use of Doppler
● Evaluation of Measurement Operability Reproducibility
ⅰ. Scope of testing:
M-mode measurements of the left ventricle、B-mode measurements of the aortic and pulmonary annuli、Area/length measurements of the left ventricle at the apical four-chamber view
ⅱ. Procedure:
1)The speakers scan and output standardized reference data.
2)Each trainee group (3 members) sequentially performs repeated measurements on the same canine subject according to the above protocols.
3)The speakers evaluate:Intra-group variation among trainees’ measurements、Deviation of each trainee’s data from the standardized reference data
4)Summary and analysis of results
Day 4 Canine and Feline Echocardiography Course
● Clinical examples of recognition of anatomical anomalies and lesions
★ Practical Session:
● Practical echocardiography test with execution of BMode and MMode measurements as preparation for the variability tests.
● Practical training on the use of Doppler
Day 5 Canine and Feline Echocardiography Course
● Clinical examples of of the use of the echocardiographic measurements to evaluate the disease progression
★ Practical Session:
● Practical echocardiography test with execution of BMode and MMode measurements as preparation for the variability tests.
● Practical training on the use of Doppler
