Course Overview
Endocrine emergencies in dogs and cats can progress rapidly and require timely recognition, decisive intervention, and appropriate long-term management. This intensive 3-day course focuses on the most clinically relevant endocrine emergencies, combining current therapeutic principles with practical case-based discussions.
From diabetic ketoacidosis and hypoglycemia to Cushing’s syndrome, electrolyte disorders, Addisonian crisis, and hypocalcemia, participants will develop a structured approach to recognizing critical endocrine disorders and making confident clinical decisions.
Diabetes & Glucose Emergencies — Pathophysiology, updated treatment strategies, DKA management, hypoglycemia, and long-term diabetes care.
Cushing’s Syndrome — HPA axis physiology, glucocorticoid use, diagnosis, complications, long-term therapy, and emergency management.
Electrolyte Disorders & Addison’s Disease — Practical management of sodium and potassium disorders, Addisonian crisis, and hypocalcemia.
Interactive Case Discussions — Apply clinical knowledge to real-world cases and strengthen emergency decision-making.
